CYCLOPES Joint Live Exercise (JLE)

Add to calendar

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the fourth edition of the CYCLOPES Joint Live Exercise (JLE), taking place from 8–10 July 2025 at the Hague Security Delta, Netherlands.

This year’s theme, “Enhancing Ransomware Preparedness”, focuses on strengthening investigative capabilities in response to increasingly complex ransomware threats. This unique, hands-on event brings together a select group of law enforcement professionals, cybersecurity experts, financial crime investigators, and legal specialists to collaboratively tackle a complex and realistic cybercrime scenario – from ransomware response to cryptocurrency tracing.

This year’s scenario will begin with a ransomware attack targeting a mid-sized logistics company. As the investigation progresses, teams will uncover links to previous large-scale cybercrime operations, introducing a cross-border dimension. Participants will engage in digital forensics, open-source intelligence (OSINT) gathering, and cryptocurrency tracing activities.

While the scenario provides a scaffold for the event, additional challenges contributed by practitioners will be integrated into the session. We do not expect specific evidence to be built into the scenario and captured during the investigation, but any demos that relate to the scenario structure would be much appreciated!

Why Participate?
